Guest Post: How to Write a Best Selling Book Title

If you want to know how to write your book’s best book titles, you need to brainstorm with your peers by a survey with 10 sample titles to your target audience for their vote from 1-10 (10 being best). Another way to go is to read the five tips below and the book template of 8 best titles from your from your book coach’s latest findings.

Five Tips Writing a Book Title

1. Include specifics in your title.

They sell better than general. “Get Passion?” is not as strong as “What Make a Passionate Woman?”

3. Avoid Long Titles If Possible.

People’s attention span is short and they won’t remember it.

3. Write a clever title, but include your book’s promise in the subtitle.

These can be the benefits, or results they’ll get after reading it.

4. Write a title that is the book’s thesis.

Write your eBook or other Short Book Fast is both a thesis and title. Great for the search engines to find.

5. Avoid hyperbole and adjectives such as gigantic or amazing.

They don’t add real value. Hype doesn’t work with a lot of people.

Book Template of 8 Best Titles

1. ____Steps to ____.

Keep the steps at 10 or under. Over that, it’s a list and will seem like gruel instead of chowder. Even a short book needs substance.

2. The Insider’s Guide to____.

For example, The Insider’s Guide to the One Page Book Proposal.

3. Secrets at the end of any topic still sell well.

For example, Testimonial Secrets of the Rich and Famous.

4. ____for Idiots.

For example, Organic Gardening for Idiots.

5. The Expert’s Guide to____.

You will be the expert as soon as your book is out to your targeted audience.

6. The Truth About ____.

This idea goes along with The Myths About____ and Their Solutions. For example, Seven Book Myths and How to Overcome Them.

7. How to____.

These are my favorite, because if you research what your audience wants first, your book practically writes itself. You audiences are looking for your wisdom to answer their challenges.

8. Title your workbook or notes Action Guide for____.

If you write a best title, your book will sell about 25% more than if it has a so-so title. Brainstorm on your title and you already have the number one ”Essential Hot-Selling Point” of a sizzling title down.
