Guest Post: 7 Pro Article Marketing Tips for Beginning Article Marketers

By Jan Verhoeff

Hi, Jan Verhoeff here with tips for beginning article marketers.

The lessons I’ve learned over the past several years have taught me, not only how to better market my articles and valuable content, but how to make the resource box work best to drive traffic to my websites and other informative locations.

I want to share with you the top 7 professional article marketing tips that I’ve discovered without a marketing degree and that I use personally, so that you too can achieve greater success in your marketing endeavors.

1 – Write high-quality article titles

This may be the most effective of all the tips I’m going to give you. If your titles are sub-quality, your article content really doesn’t matter, because nobody is going to find it. Quality titles rise fast and furiously to the top of the search engines because they offer solutions readers are seeking.

2 – Write valuable content articles only

If the content of your article is junk – just once… your readers will NEVER forget it. They’ll never read another article. Write good stuff in your article and don’t waste the reader’s time. Grammar and punctuation matter, but don’t let them outweigh the content. Content ALWAYS matters more.

3 – Don’t overload articles with keyword crap

You never really know what keywords will grab the attention of your readers, so don’t overload on crap keyword phrases that you “think might capture the search engine.” Readers matter, search engine comes later. If your writing solves a problem for the reader, the natural discussion will attract viewers.

4 – Write to help your readers

They don’t really care about you. Your readers are looking for solutions to their problems, give them solutions, not a story of YOUR problems. If your problem results in a solution for the reader, capture that information and leave out anything unimportant about the problem.

5 – Step up the quality of your articles

Once you’ve got your 400 words, go back and make sure they’re valuable words. If you left something out, add it. If your article is over 400 words, so what! You’re meeting the needs of your readers, not the requirements of the publication site.

6 – Feed your reader good information

Beyond the quality of your information, you’ll want to make absolutely certain that you’re providing accurate and correct information to your reader. The latest gimmick on the Internet probably isn’t going to be helpful if it’s not true. Don’t blow your reputation with bad information.

7 – Include a call to action in your resource box

A link isn’t enough. Be sure you tell your reader to click on the link and then tell them what you want them to do when they arrive at the link. Invite them nicely to visit your link, then go the extra mile and TELL them to have a seat and read what’s there.
